Kathy's Music Room

FONT size=+2 color=#000070> Welcome to Kathy's Country
and Bluegrass Midi's

Music has always been a big part of my life. I was introduced to County/Bluegrass Music from several very special people. My father, God rest his soul, was a man born and raised in Virginia, and he played his his older coultry music and watch it on TV when ever it was on, like the Grand Ol Opry and Hee-Haw. Our neighbor man, Ralph Brown, A man from the wonderfull state of Kentucky, would sit under his shade tree and pick his Banjo on what seemed like hot, endless summer days. And then there was Cousin Dixie. As Hillbilly as they come when it came to her music. Even today, she is as Bluegrass as they come. I thank Each and Everyone of these Precious People in my life for introducing me to the
Music of the Mountains, and giving me more than they will ever know, The love for my Mountain Music, Which enriches my life everyday.

Loving music as I do, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

Just a note for those of you who are wondering- MIDI music files are the digital equivalent of sheet music. Your Sound Card provides the "Voices" or instruments which actually play the music through your speakers. If you have an inexpensive sound card in your system, it may not have the capability to do a really good job of playing the MIDI music files; it just doesn't have the "voices"that may be called for, so it uses what it does have. Wavetable sound cards have an entire "Orchestra" magicly standing by, waiting for you to ask them to play. You get what you pay for!

From there, the quality of the MIDI file is determined by the artist who "Sequenced" it; MIDI music isn't recorded with a microphone or a patch cord from a CD player, it's created by an artist on a MIDI keyboard... a lot of that artistic stuff is involved in the creation of a really fine sounding MIDI music file, and undoubtedly a lot of time.

The Crescendo Plugins for web browsers are available for free, and will enhance the audio output of most sound cards; if you don't have the latest version for your Web Browser, GET IT!
